The Cause:
The race is run with Chris McIntosh from Always Forward, who has created a community inspiring growth through adversity. Working closely with SAMH to help raise awareness and funds to support the opening of The Nook in Edinburgh: a free, walk-in mental health support hub with no need for an appointment and no waiting times. This is part of the largest mental health initiative in Scotland’s history, with the first Nook in Glasgow having already supported thousands of people.
The Nook in Edinburgh will be open seven days a week and is designed to be a welcoming, comfortable, and safe space. It will be centrally located and will offer support to young people (10+), families, and adults experiencing mental health problems impacting their day-to-day lives. This might include therapy, peer support, wellbeing activities, group events, training courses, and more.
