Vigil at Bristo Square, Edinburgh
Free
Event Overview
6:00–7:00 PM: Vigil at Bristo Square (near McEwan Hall steps)
A reflective space with speeches, readings, and poetry from trans community members. Allies are warmly encouraged to attend in solidarity.
If anyone wishes to speak or share a piece, please contact Ollie (Trans & Nonbinary Officer at EUSA) at olliecahya@gmail.com.
7:00–9:00 PM: Community Space at the Student Community Lounge, Potterrow
A relaxed space to connect, decompress, and support one another after the vigil. There’ll be a quiet/low-sensory area, opportunities for conversation and board games, and a table for sharing resources.
We will also have some hot teas and coffees available to tackle the winter chill.
Note: This event is organised by our partners at Edinburgh University Students' Association. Students from all Edinburgh universities are welcome.
Accessibility Information
The site has smooth pathing and slopes for wheelchair accessibility. Both the vigil space and community space are stepless and are on flat ground.
There will be a quiet, low sensory space based in the Community Lounge meeting room 2. Anyone is welcome to access this.
